Stories inspired by the painting 'Rock Stars 67/68'.

Great time at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair last weekend!
We met a lot of really nice people, sold some art and had some fantastic conversations. Here is a sample of the stories we heard that were inspired by my painting 'Rock Stars 67/68':
A retired lawyer who was articling in Toronto in the late 60s attended a trial of Jimi Hendix for marijuana possession around the corner from where we were talking at City Hall. When the ruling came back 'not guilty', Jimi started applauding.
A Toronto man who wanted to see The Beatles at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1965 when he was 12. He got it in his head that someone might put a notice about tickets for sale on the notice board at his local supermarket. He went to the supermarket and checked the board but there was nothing other than the usual notices for second hand sewing machines and kittens for sale. Instead of going home, he decided to sit at the end of one of the checkout lanes. Moments later, a man walked up to the board and pinned a notice. The man walked away and the 12 year old boy got up and read the hand-written advertisement: 2 tickets for The Beatles at Maple Leaf Gardens. He ran after the man and arranged to buy the tickets. He said he went to the show, couldn't hear The Beatles very well due to the screaming girls... but it was an incredible experience and the excitement in the arena was unbelievable.
A man's friend was looking to rent an apartment in Toronto. The apartment he wanted happened to be owned by Second City alumni Andrea Martin. He complained that the rent was unreasonably high, so Andrea said to him there was a story connected to the place. Andrea said that Bob Dylan had once asked her if he could stay at her place when she was out of town. She agreed and Dylan moved in for a couple of months. During his stay, Dylan made dozens of long distance calls using Andrea's home phone. When Andrea came back to her apartment, she was confronted with a phone bill for thousands of dollars. Dylan never offered to reimburse Andrea for the calls. She said that's why the rent was so high.
